J.Trevor Lawrence has had many years of experience teaching adults and children of all ages and abilities both within school environments and in the wider community. He has taught a wide range of arts subjects with creativity and innovation and has gained considerable success especially among less able or less confident students. Many years following the family tradition in farming in the Wadebridge area enables him to understand practical rural matters and customs. He is a Cornish speaker and has a keen interest in Cornish folklore and history.

Trevor is a storyteller, musician and songwriter. He is a member of Cornish Medieval band 'MYSKA'; 'FISHY TALES COMPANY' story and music group; Cornish group HWILAS and former member of Caracana. He has performed at the Festival Interceltique in Lorient in Brittany; at the Feile Pan Cheilteach song festival in Ireland and frequently at Cornwall's own Celtic Festival, Lowender Peran.

Recent storytelling performances have been Lowender Peran, private parties, working with adults with learning difficulties at Truro College, with children in Treliske Hospital, Truro and for the Forestry Commission in Cardinham Woods. He also runs projects and performances in local schools.

Trevor is a member of Equity, has a current CRB certificate and is fully insured.


Jacki Lawrence, Percussionist, Secretary, Inspiration, Wardrobe Manager and Beautiful Assistant. She has performed at the Festival Interceltique in Lorient in Brittany and often at Lowender Peran.

Jacki is also manager and choreographer of our wonderful Cornish Jig Dolls


Moe Keast, Renowned Singer and Storyteller from a long tradition of Cornish performers. Moe has represented Cornwall at many festivals in Britain, Ireland and Brittany, singing in both English and Cornish.


Ern Keast, Musician, Singer and a great authority on and performer of Shanty Songs. Husband of Moe.


Claire Fielding, is a singer, fiddler and recorder player who has lived in Saltash for 16 years and has a special affinity with Cornwall.

She has been a member of the Cornish Band Asteveryn for ten years and has performed at many Celtic festivals including Yn Chruinnaght on the Isle of Man, Cemaes and Cwlwn Celtaidd in Wales and in Ireland for the Cork International Folk Dance Festival. More recently Claire has been involved with the Brunel 150 years celebrations in Saltash.

Claire has a wide taste in music and as a linguist, she enjoys singing in different languages; Cornish is a particular challenge!

She is very pleased to be involved in the Cornish heroines' project as for her it celebrates a sense of place, makes history relevant and affirms the lingering power of the individual human spirit through the most powerful and expressive medium of music. "
